Names, telephone numbers, and addresses entered in a search box are sent to the outside provider supplying those results. We do not retain a copy of those searches on our servers. When you contact us, we receive the details you choose to include and use them to answer.
Basic Data Collected Automatically
Routine hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and time of access. Aggregated log data helps diagnose faults and measure general page use. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also rely on cookies or similar tools.
How That Data Is Used
Limited data supports operation, troubleshooting, traffic totals, and page improvements. We neither sell lists of visitors nor create individual visitor profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to Cook County and Illinois portals, libraries, archives, and outside search services. Once you use one of those services, its privacy terms control the information you provide. Sponsored results are supplied by an independent company and follow that provider's policy.
When Data May Be Shared
Hosting and technical vendors process logs needed to support the service. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic information identified above. Other disclosure occurs only when required by valid legal process.
Steps Used to Protect Data
An encrypted connection protects data in transit, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes stated here. Since visitors create no accounts, we hold no user passwords or account profiles.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on applicable law, you may be able to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data that we maintain. Illinois does not provide a general consumer privacy statute citation in the project research, so no broader statutory right is claimed here. Because we retain little information, we generally check the contact mailbox and available server logs when a request arrives. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by Harvey, Cook County, or Illinois offices remain under the custodian's control, and requests about those records must go there.
